Baby Gift Sweat Shop
The other day my sister asked me if I could make her daughter a tactile blanket (like a Taggie). "Sure thing," I said, since I always love adding new projects to my W.I.P. list.
Then I started thinking about all those pregnant women in my life...
... and turned my sewing room into a sweat shop of epic proportions for making baby shower/baby welcoming gifts. And sort of went a little crazy and may have added way more ribbon to my stash than I could possibly use in a lifetime of making these things.
There are a bunch more planned, but I figured I'd show off a few just for fun.
Probably should have ironed them before I posted them, but since I hate my iron you know that wasn't going to happen. :) Some are cotton, some are flannel. Most are backed with fleece and one is backed with this jersey knit I had on hand. These are great for busting through your fabric stash and remnants.

Since my son is 24, I hadn't seen these. Although I had a cousin who love a particular stuffed animal due to the feel of the tag. When the tag wore out, his mom took him to a fabric store to "feel" for a new one.
The only problem, so recipients may take them to college...hooked!
These are beautiful. Love them all! Have a great week:)
WOW!! Super beautiful!! I love the prints and the ribbons are awesome! yaaaaayyy for taggies!
That owl one is adorable!
I bet I've got more ribbon than you. I should make some - they are cute (and easy too - I would think)...
These are cute. Amazing all the new things that come out for babies.
And they are super-cute, too!
Another darling project, Cecily. These are so cute and color coordinated. BTW, love your son's chalkboard closet :). Hey, I'm stopping by to see if you've ever made a t-shirt quilt. It's on my to-do list for my daughter who's going to college in August.
What a great idea! I have sent my pregnant friend a 'normal' gift (she wanted a breast pump!!) but have been looking for something with a little more soul than that. These are perfect. I have never heard of them, but the idea makes perfect sense.
I got my quilt from Cecily this week and will be sending pics soon.
These are great ... I made ONE last week, I am in awe of how many you made! (I love the owl ribbon!)
Oh so sweet! I made one recently and really enjoyed it. I love the prints you've used.
Oh, and you can never have too much ribbon!
